Palestinian prisoner dies in Israeli prison of medical negligence


A Palestinian prisoner from the besieged Gaza Strip died in Israeli jail on Wednesday morning, according to the Palestinian Authority’s Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs and his family.

Saadi al-Gharably, 75, suffered from a number of health conditions and his death came as a result of the policy of medical negligence.

Waed socity for detainees' affairs stated that Al-Gharably died inside the Kapla Hospital, and he was handcuffed and feet tied until the last moment.

His family said that they have been prevented from visiting him since 2000 and he served over 26 years in the Israeli jails.

With Gharably's death, the number of Palestinians to have died in Israeli prisons has risen to 223.
