Days Of Palestine - Nablus

Dozens of Jewish settlers from Yitzhar Settlement at dawn Wednesday attempted to storm Nablus and break into Joseph’s Tomb east of the city despite the coronavirus lockdown.

Eyewitnesses said that a state of alert prevailed in Nablus after dozens of Jewish settlers, escorted by armed forces, stormed Salem village in the eastern outskirt of the city.

Palestinian citizens later rushed to close the roads leading to Joseph’s Tomb to block settlers’ access to the site.

Despite the lockdown and movement restrictions, Israeli settlers, backed by armed soldiers, have repeatedly attempted to force their way into Joseph’s Tomb since the coronavirus crisis started, which sparked confrontations during which a number of Palestinians were injured.
