Israeli authorities on Tuesday closed all entrances to the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources said that the Israeli authorities sealed off the Old City and prevented Palestinian citizens who live outside the city from entering it.

The move came as a proactive measure by the Israeli authorities to prevent Muslim worshipers from gathering at the gates of al-Aqsa Mosque in the city for the prayers of the blessed 27th night of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, Jerusalem’s Islamic Awqaf and Religious Affairs Council on Tuesday announced that al-Aqsa Mosque will be reopened to Muslim worshipers after Eid al-Fitr holiday following a two-month closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
