Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya recently held phone conversations with a number of Palestinian political figures and heads of factions to discuss ways to intensify efforts to confront the challenges arising from the coronavirus crisis and spread.
According to his office on Saturday, Haneyya talked over the phone with Ziyad al-Nakhalah, secretary-general of Islamic Jihad, Mustafa al-Barghouthi, head of the National Initiative, Abu Ahmed Fuaad, deputy secretary-general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Fahed Suleiman, deputy secretary-general of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and Abu Jihad Naji, deputy secretary-general of the Popular Front – General Command.
The Hamas leader discussed with them several important issues, especially with regard to the living conditions of the Palestinian people in all areas of their presence during the coronavirus crisis.
He also briefed them on the contacts and talks he had conducted recently with heads of state and officials from different countries as well as UN officials.
He highlighted in particular the efforts being made by his Movement to prevent any coronavirus spread in Gaza and the steps that had been taken in this regard.
