A top Hamas delegation led by its political bureau chief Ismail Haneyya on Wednesday met with Sheikh Abdul-Hadi Awang, head of Malaysia's Islamic Movement (PAS), and other officials from the party.

During the meeting, Haneyya briefed PAS officials on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena and the dangers threatening the Palestinian cause, especially the Judaization activities in Jerusalem.

The Hamas official also talked about Israel’s settlement expansion in the West Bank, its blockade on Gaza, the harsh living conditions of Palestinian refugees and other Palestinian issues.

He applauded Malaysia’s outstanding role in supporting the Palestinian people, their steadfastness, and their national cause and rights.

For his part, Sheikh Awang expressed his solidarity with the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights and his rejection of any step intended to undermine their national cause.

He saluted the Palestinian people for their steadfastness in the face of the Israeli occupation and their adherence to their homeland and rights.

A delegation from the Hamas Movement led by Haneyya arrived last Tuesday in Malaysia to meet with top Malaysian officials and noted political and civil figures.
