Days Of Palestine - Jerusalem

The Israeli occupation police have intensified their presence and tightened security measures in and around Jerusalem, especially in the Old City, ahead of a Jewish event to be held today in the presence of foreign delegations.

According to local sources, police forces closed several streets and roads across Jerusalem, set up checkpoints and prevented the Palestinian citizens from entering many areas or reach their destinations.

The police beefed up the presence of its forces across Jerusalem in preparation for the so-called holocaust forum slated to be held in the occupied city on Thursday afternoon in the presence of heads of state, diplomats and dignitaries from different countries.

Russian president Vladimir Putin, US vice president Mike Pence and prince of Britain Charles Philip already arrived in the occupied Palestinian territories to participate in the Jewish event.

Later, some foreign delegations will visit the West Bank under tight security and military protection and meet with Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas.
