The Hamas Movement has discussed with heads and officials of Palestinian civil society institutions the ways to make the Palestinian elections a success and create the atmosphere to achieve that.

“The Movement’s leadership just ended a consultative meeting with Palestinian civil society institutions and leaders, and the discussion focused on the Palestinian elections, freedoms and the need to provide all guarantees in order to pave the way for achieving the national unity and ending the division,” Hamas said in a statement on Thursday.

“The Movement’s leadership explained all the actions and positions it had taken so far, and it will uphold them to help the elections succeed,” Hamas added, describing the elections as “a popular demand that must be respected by all political forces.”

Hamas also announced that its leadership would continue its consultations with all concerned parties in order to reach a comprehensive national consensus that serves our people’s interests and respects their choices.
