Dozens of Palestinian citizens were injured on Friday when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) heavily attacked the protesters taking part in the Great March of Return in Gaza with live ammunition and tear gas canisters.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said that at least 69 Palestinians were injured on the 79th Friday of the Great March of Return.

Thousands of Palestinians on Friday, 18 October, marched along the border between the Gaza Strip and the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories to voice their rejection of all forms of normalization with the Israeli occupation.

The Gaza Strip Palestinians launched the Great March of Return on 30 March 2018 to demand the right of return for refugees and call for breaking the 13-year-long blockade on the enclave.

Since the start of the border protests, the IOF has killed 334 Palestinians and injured over 32,000.
