Scores of Palestinian citizens on Saturday night suffered injuries after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed Azzun town in Qalqilya and attacked local residents.

Local sources said that a large number of Israeli soldiers raided the town, imposed a curfew in the central district, forced storeowners to close their businesses and fired a barrage of tear gas canisters at citizens to make them go home.

According to the sources, angry local youths clashed with Israeli soldiers, who fired rubber and live bullets and more tear gas.

Consequently, three young men suffered from moderate bullet injuries.

The IOF also blocked the main entrance to the town completely, barred anyone from going in or out of the town and searched several passersby.

The Red Crescent said that its ambulance crews provided medical assistance to six citizens during the events, including three with bullet injuries and three others with tear gas injuries.

Meanwhile, a number of women and children was moderately injured when a bus carrying them overturned in the town.

Local sources added that the intensity of tear gas affected the driver and made him lose control of the vehicle.

Luckily, no one of the passengers were seriously injured and all of them received on-site medical assistance.

In a separate incident, the IOF prevented on the same day farmer Abdul-Latif Hasan from working his land in al-Mintar area in the east of Kafr Thulth, south of Qalqilya, and confiscated a tractor belonging to another farmer from the same land, according to town chief Husni Odeh.

Odeh also said that the IOF blocked with mounds of rocks and dirt the agricultural road connecting the towns of Azzun and Kafr Thulth with each other and leading to Eyoun area in Wadi Qanna.
