Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh received Friday a phone call from UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Nickolay Mladenov.

During the call, Haniyeh and Mladenov discussed the ceasefire understandings after commitment to abide by them was renewed through Egypt and the United Nations’ efforts.

While talking about the Great Return March protests, Haniyeh highlighted the necessity for the understandings to be enforced by the Israeli occupation immediately and without hesitation.

The Hamas chief emphasised the necessity for the Israeli occupation to stop shooting Palestinians participating in the popular peaceful Great Return March protests, expressing his movement’s gratitude to the efforts exerted by Egypt and Qatar alongside the United Nations in this regard.

Both sides agreed to stay in contact to ensure that the understandings are being implemented as planned.
