Dozens of students, teachers, and citizens were treated for breathing problems after Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired teargas canisters in the vicinity of a number of schools in southern al-Khalil on Monday morning.
Local sources said that IOF soldiers fired teargas and sound bombs near five schools in the early morning causing panic among the students, adding that dozens were treated on the field from the suffocating effects of the teargas.
Teachers in those schools told the Palestinian news agency, WAFA, that the incident interrupted the classes and spread panic among the school students.
IOF soldiers almost daily target Palestinian schools and attack students and teachers in a bid to disrupt the educational process in the city.
